All respondents were asked, "What is the best way for farmers to reap the financial rewards from wind power?"

FROM WIND POWER?
 
Thirty percent of respondents stated, "Lease a small portion of their farm to a power generator for the placement of wind turbines" as a way to gain financial rewards from wind power. Significantly increased response rates were noted in Colorado and Iowa.
 
Thirty-eight percent of respondents stated, "Invest in a farmer-owned wind cooperative" as another way they could gain financial rewards. Significantly increased response rates were noted in Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Minnesota, and Nebraska.
 
Sixteen percent of respondents stated, "Purchase a small turbine for individual use" as a way for them to gain financial benefits from wind power. Significant figures were noted in Michigan and Missouri.
